The Candidate

After graduating from Bentley University in the US, Echo spent a large part of her career in the Netherlands before moving to the UK. She now works in Denmark as a senior human factors engineer for Phillips-Medisize, a position we helped her achieve. We spoke to her about her experience with Vivid Resourcing to see how she’d found her time at both this and her previous role, which we’d also placed her in.

The Requirement

Like many people, Echo found her employment changed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We had just helped her find a position in Bristol for med-tech company Kinneir Dufort when the pandemic hit and the company had to downsize, losing around a third of its staff – this included Echo. She’d moved from the Netherlands to the UK for the role, which was already a major change, only to find the role disappear. Our priority was to find a good role to place her in as soon as possible.

She had turned to Vivid before, after talking to a range of different recruitment agencies while trying to find a change in job while working in the Netherlands. She found that none of them understood her specialist expertise until she contacted Vivid. Alisdair, one of our recruiters, had stayed in contact with her since first getting in touch, so we were able to react quickly to find her a new role.

The job we found for Echo was as a senior human factors engineer for Phillips-Medisize. Echo was impressed not only by us being able to again find a role that matched her specialist expertise, but also by how much we went to bat for her. Alisdair helped negotiate an improved salary for her, which was something she said she wouldn’t have had the confidence to do herself but was necessary, particularly when the expenses of the international move were taken into account.

The Results

Echo expressed how happy she was with the service that Alisdair and Vivid provided. She is enjoying being in Denmark and feels like she could settle down there, and already Phillips-Medisize is looking at promoting her to a new role. She is still in touch with Alisdair and praised the relationship they have, saying he’s become like a friend and how much she appreciates him catching up with her. The role she’s been able to secure has everything she needs in terms of salary and benefits, and again, she praised Alisdair for securing those for her.
