About the Client
Our client is a leading engineering organisation delivering major power and energy infrastructure projects across Europe. They are currently seeking an experienced EHS Site Manager to support the safe delivery of a large-scale electrical infrastructure project.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced EHS Site Manager to oversee all health, safety and environmental activities on a major high-voltage construction project.
You will be responsible for implementing the project HSE management system, ensuring compliance with local legislation, client standards and industry best practices, while promoting a strong safety culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Join the project team as the EHS Site Manager, leading all health, safety and environmental activities throughout the construction phase.
- Lead all site HSE activities and act as the primary HSE representative.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all project teams and contractors.
- Develop, implement and maintain project HSE documentation and management plans.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and workforce safety briefings.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE requirements.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular HSE reports and performance statistics.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation, client requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with construction, commissioning and project management teams to ensure safe project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction Health, Safety & Environmental management.
- Previous experience on high-voltage, power transmission, substations, utilities or other major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction HSE management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Experience conducting site audits, inspections, incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and engage stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 or equivalent preferred).
- Valid VCA or equivalent site safety certification is advantageous.
- Fluent English and Dutch communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
