A Local Authority in Nottinghamshire is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planning Enforcement Officer on an initial 6-month contract to support the team with clearing a backlog of enforcement cases.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced enforcement professional who can hit the ground running, manage a busy caseload independently, and provide pragmatic enforcement advice within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied caseload of planning enforcement investigations
- Assessing alleged breaches of planning control
- Drafting enforcement notices, PCNs, and related documentation
- Conducting negotiations to resolve breaches where appropriate
- Providing professional enforcement advice to officers and stakeholders
- Supporting the service in reducing an existing backlog of cases
Requirements:
- Previous Local Authority planning enforcement experience is essential
- Ability to manage cases autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong working knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Contract Details:
- Initial 6-month contract
- Flexible rate dependent on experience
- Predominantly remote working
- Site visits and office presence only required where necessary
