Project: 200km of High Voltage Cables being built through German mainland to connect off-shore wind power to the mainland.

About the Client:
Our client is the main contractor (EPC) for the project relating to building 200km of high voltage cables underground throughout Germany, to connect off-shore wind power to the mainland. This project is expected to take 5 years and you can work on the project for all 5 years should the placement go well.
Role Overview:
We are urgently seeking 2x Quality Inspectors to join the project onsite, creating test plans, overseeing the testing/works/inspections, closing testing and reporting back to the QA Manager and the client. The main tasks revolve around HDPE Welding (plastic pipes), pressure testing of pipes as well as supporting the quality team around cable pulling, cable works, ground works/drilling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Join the main contractor on a project to build 200km of HV cables underground to connect power coming from off-shore wind throughout the mainland of Germany.
- Your position is to be part of the Quality team onsite, overseeing inspection works (HDPE welding, plastic pipes, cable pulling, cable connections, ground works etc..).
- The main area (starting pipe/welding works in July 2026) is around the HDPE welding of plastic pipes. Your tasks will involve doing the data capturing, structuring the data, performing visual inspections during welding, casing pipes, taking photos of the welding, checking log books of the welds, ITP follow ups, overseeing and closing the inspections, inputting data into FieldView, Excel etc.. and reporting back to the client and QA manager of the main contractor.
- For the plastic pipes, you will also create the test plans for testing post weld. This needs to be done and completed before cable pulling can begin, requiring pressure testing – ensure all test protocols and procedures are set up, followed and implemented. Follow up on the testing and close this. Reporting back to the QA Manager and the client.
- Once the piping work is completed and fully tested, the cable pulling and cable connections will happen. During this phase, you will ensure the work is done according to procedure (already made) and in line with standards etc.. following electrical inspections ensuring the work is done according to the procedure you’ll be given to follow.
- For new ground layers later in the project, you will support overseeing the compaction test of ground layers, ensuring its been done properly. Checking that the measurements have been done by the relevant teams before drilling etc… again, all procedures for you to follow up on will be given here.
- Performing inspections, test plans, follow ups and letting the client and necessary stakeholders know when tests are happening etc.. informing the client and QA manager of any issues, changes, when work is complete, what the next plans are etc.. and ensuring all necessary stakeholders are kept up to date on the testing and inspection schedule.
- Constantly reporting back to and working closely with the quality manager to sign off work inspections, testing etc.. and reporting back at the close of testing/inspection each time with both the Quality Manager and the client.
- Ensuring all documentation is in order, helping to prepare documentation ahead of inspections/testing and that all is completed and filed before moving onto the next phase.
- Checking the necessary certificates are in place, and controlling the welding certificates for people onsite.
Candidate Requirements:
- HDPE Welding Inspection experience (Plastic Pipes).
- Quality Inspector (on projects) experience.
- Ideally you have a certificate for DVGW-GW 331 (or equivalent – this is the German certificate for HDPE welding).
- VCA (or equivalent) is needed for site access.
- English speaking (German, Polish or Italian is considered a bonus skill).

Location: North Germany
Normal working schedule: (2-week rotation, 10 hour days: Tuesday->Saturday; Monday->Thursday; 4 days off – repeat).
Duration: 12 months (extendable – 5 year project)
Rate type: All-inclusive Hourly Rate (or accommodation can be provided but the hourly rate will be effected).
