Contract: Initial 6 Months (Likely Extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Overview
We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Kent to recruit an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive team, contributing to the enforcement and improvement of standards within the private rented sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting HMO inspections (licensed and unlicensed) in line with current legislation
- Investigating and responding to housing complaints within the private rented sector
- Assessing property conditions and ensuring compliance with housing standards
- Taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary
- Liaising with landlords, tenants, and other key stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience working within Private Sector Housing
- Strong working knowledge of HMO regulations and housing legislation
- Experience conducting inspections and handling complaint cases
- Ability to manage caseloads independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
