Medior General Ledger Accountant (Temporary Assignment)

Our client is a growing Belgian organisation with multiple operational entities and a pragmatic, hands-on working culture. The finance team is lean, collaborative, and currently undergoing a period of workload rebalancing and process support across several entities and systems.
The environment is operationally focused, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, ownership, and flexibility.
About the role
We are looking for a Medior General Ledger Accountant to support the finance team on a temporary assignment of approximately 6–8 months (potentially extending into early 2027).
The role is designed to provide additional capacity across multiple entities and ensure continuity in core accounting and month-end activities while internal team members are allocated to project work.
The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations across several systems and entities, working closely with the existing finance team.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting activities across multiple entities
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Manage transactional accounting, including AP postings and bank reconciliations
- Assist with payment processing and bank registrations
- Maintain fixed asset registers, including depreciation schedules
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records across entities
- Support reconciliation activities and balance sheet integrity
- Work with multiple ERP/accounting systems across entities
- Collaborate with external parties for tax-related processes (outsourced function)
- Contribute to operational stability within a high-volume finance environment
Systems environment
The role spans multiple systems, including:
- SAP
- Twinfield
- Exact Online
Experience in one or more of these systems is considered an advantage.
Candidate profile
- 3–10 years of experience in accounting or general ledger roles
- Strong experience in operational accounting and month-end close processes
- Comfortable working in multi-entity environments
- Hands-on and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and structured working approach
- Able to work across different systems and adapt quickly
Languages
- Dutch: mandatory
- English: required
- French: an advantage
Working arrangement
- Onsite presence required (approximately 4–5 days per week)
- No fixed remote days
- Strong preference for high availability on-site due to team setup

The role has been created due to internal resource reallocation and increasing operational demands across multiple finance streams. The focus is on stability, continuity, and ensuring smooth month-end and accounting operations during a period of team transition.
