Freelance Test Manager – Brussels (Hybrid)
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Test Manager to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within one of Belgium’s leading telecom organisations.
This is a hands-on Test Management role where you’ll take ownership of multiple end-to-end initiatives, working closely with both local and offshore teams to ensure high-quality releases are delivered in a fast-moving environment. Telecoms experience is a major advantage due to the pace, complexity and release cadence of the organisation.
Your Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the testing lifecycle across multiple end-to-end projects.
- Coordinate testing activities across teams of 4-6 testers.
- Manage 2-3 concurrent projects while ensuring delivery milestones are met.
- Ensure developments are ready for testing following code deployment.
- Monitor release planning and coordinate testing for major releases every 6-8 weeks.
- Follow up on incidents after deployment and drive issues through to resolution.
- Report progress, risks and quality metrics to business stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing confidence and clear expectations throughout the delivery process.
Your Profile
- 5-10 years of experience in Test Management.
- Strong background as a Test Analyst before progressing into Test Management.
- Comfortable remaining technically involved rather than purely coordinating.
- Able to lead teams while also getting involved when required.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong ownership mentality with the ability to work independently.
- Stress-resistant and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Someone who enjoys solving problems and takes responsibility for delivering results.
Nice to Have
- Telecom industry experience (strongly preferred).
- Experience within fast-paced organisations such as Orange, Proximus, Telenet or Infosys.
- Experience working with offshore delivery teams, particularly Indian teams.
- French is a plus, although English is the working language.
Working Environment
This is a demanding but rewarding environment where priorities can change quickly and delivery speed is essential. You’ll be working with both Belgian and offshore teams across extended working hours when required to support international collaboration.
The successful consultant must be comfortable operating in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple stakeholders and maintaining quality without losing sight of delivery deadlines.
