Freelance RF IC Designer – Remote

  • Contract
  • Freelance
  • Germany

We are looking for experienced RF IC designers to contribute to the development of the next-generation DECT NR+ microchip. As part of our dynamic RF and analog/mixed-signal design team, you will participate in the design and productization of cutting-edge FD-SOI process technology nodes.

This remote project will have a minimum duration of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret system-level requirements to develop comprehensive specifications.

  • Develop behavioral models to guide architectural decisions and determine block-level requirements for analog and digital components.

  • Collaborate closely with the layout design team to create layout views of the designs.

  • Perform top-level simulations.

  • Execute pre-tapeout verification flows to ensure design compliance with performance, power, reliability, and timing requirements.

  • Define production and bench-level test plans for post-silicon characterization.

  • Assist lab engineers with measurements to validate IP.

  • Review ATE and lab test results to address yield issues and support bug resolution.

  • Collaborate with system teams during system bring-up and debugging.

  • Conduct design reviews with peers and management to confirm designs meet specification targets and requirements.

Tools, Technologies, and Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Proven experience in RF/Analog IC design with advanced CMOS technology nodes (experience in 22FDX is advantageous).

  • Expertise in RFIC circuit design with direct tape-out experience in blocks such as RF front-end circuits, PA, LNA, mixer, oscillator, PLL, LO, VGA, filter, TIA, or other baseband analog blocks in deep sub-micron CMOS technology.

  • Strong knowledge of analog design concepts, including noise analysis, linearity, mismatch, stability, and other analog impairments.

  • Familiarity with CMOS device physics, RF device modeling, device noise parameters, and inductor modeling.

  • Understanding of packaging effects, supply isolations, high-frequency ESD structures, and optimal RF performance circuit layout.

  • Proficiency in various RF transceiver architectures, their trade-offs, and calibration methods.

  • Experience with design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, and EMX.

  • Ability to work with system architects to translate system requirements into circuit-level specifications.

  • Hands-on experience in silicon characterization and debugging.

Vivid Resourcing are committed to equality of opportunity for all applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships or any other characteristic protected by law.
