Job Specification: Embedded Engineer – IoT Connected Devices
Position: Freelance Embedded Engineer
Location: Noord-Brabant
Contract Type: Freelance
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Responsibilities
- Firmware Development: Design and develop embedded software for IoT devices using C/C++.
- Hardware Integration: Work with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32) and sensors, using interfaces like SPI, I2C, and UART.
- IoT Connectivity: Implement and optimize protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, BLE, Wi-Fi, or LoRa.
- System Testing: Perform debugging and validation using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.
- Power Optimization: Ensure low-power consumption in battery-powered devices.
- Cloud Integration: Enable seamless connectivity with platforms like AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or Google IoT Core.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming, with Python experience as a plus.
- Hands-on experience with microcontroller platforms (e.g., STM32, ESP32, or Nordic nRF series).
- Familiarity with IoT communication protocols and real-time systems (RTOS like FreeRTOS/Zephyr).
- Experience with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes).
- Knowledge of IoT cybersecurity is a plus.
