A German client based near Bielefield is looking for a FREELANCE Embedded engineer to join the team for a 6-month initial contract!
The role is needed to be on-site near Bielefield in Germany.
Job Description:
- In this role, you will work in the automotive OEM environment, specifically in the area of the Vehicle Charging Interface, and take on a key responsibility in hardware‑close software development:
- Development, maintenance, and enhancement of embedded software source code in an automotive OEM context
- Independent execution of system and software fault analyses, including root cause identification and definition of corrective actions
- Acting as the primary technical contact for OEM customers with a professional presence, handling and coordinating fault tickets
- Execution and documentation of functional tests on system and software level, preferably using Vector CANoe
- Close collaboration with system, hardware, and test teams
Technical Skills / Competencies:
Mandatory:
- Very strong skills in bare‑metal programming
- Experience with microcontroller platforms, preferably the Texas Instruments C2000 family
- Solid basic understanding of electronic circuits for initial fault analysis in analog/mixed‑signal environments
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly acquire a deep understanding of complex systems
Optional / Nice to have:
- Experience with Vector‑based test systems (e.g. CANoe, CAPL)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architect or model‑based system documentation
- Experience in the automotive OEM or Tier‑1 environment
Personal Requirements:
- Structured and highly autonomous working style
- Strong communication skills in a technical and customer‑facing environment
- Good command of the German language (at least business‑fluent)
Logistics:
- Start date: immediate
- Length of contract: 6 months +
- Location: on‑site at least 4 days per week
- Work equipment: own notebook required
