Electrical Project Manager (Freelance)

Project: Data Centre Construction
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Site visits twice per week, remainder remote
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project based in Leipzig, Germany. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-employed professional with a strong electrical engineering background to oversee electrical works throughout the project lifecycle and contribute to the successful execution of a critical infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate electrical project activities from planning through to completion.
- Oversee electrical contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant regulations, standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
- Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
- Support commissioning activities and project handover processes.
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues to maintain project progress.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience managing electrical projects within construction, industrial, or mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and project delivery methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Valid EU passport or German residency permit (mandatory for this freelance engagement).
Desirable
- Previous experience working on data centre projects.
- German language skills.
- Experience working within international project teams.
