System Engineer (m/f/d) – Defence & Naval Radio Systems (x2)
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop and integrate complex communication systems and system architectures, with a focus on secure naval radio solutions
- Analyse customer and regulatory requirements (incl. defence standards) and translate them into robust system concepts and technical specifications
- Define and manage system interfaces across RF, hardware, software and network components
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Software, Hardware, Production, and IT) to ensure seamless system delivery
- Plan and execute system verification & validation (V&V), including lab testing, integration testing, and field trials
- Perform root cause analysis on system-level issues and drive continuous improvement of performance, reliability, and resilience
- Ensure compliance with relevant defence, security, and quality standards
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation throughout the system lifecycle
Your Profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
- Several years of experience in systems engineering, ideally within defence, aerospace, or critical communications (e.g. RF, radio, or secure networks)
- Strong understanding of system architecture, requirements engineering (e.g. DOORS), and system integration processes
- Knowledge of RF systems, wireless communications, or naval communication systems is highly advantageous
- Experience working within regulated environments and with industry standards (e.g. MIL/DEF, security requirements) is a plus
- Familiarity with project delivery in both agile and traditional (V-model) environments
- Structured, analytical mindset with a hands-on and solution-oriented approach
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary, international teams
- Fluent German and good English required
