About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead and further professionalize its accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a continuous improvement mindset.
Operating in a multi-company environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing accounting processes, and supporting the ongoing development of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities.
Manage and support the accounting team.
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within accounting and finance operations.
Further optimize and streamline the monthly closing process.
Strengthen financial controls and accounting procedures.
Collaborate with management and key stakeholders on finance-related projects.
Support ERP and finance systems initiatives, including process optimization within existing platforms.
Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and internal policies.
Desired Profile
Proven experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership role.
Strong people management experience.
Experience working in a multi-company environment.
Demonstrated ability to improve accounting processes and increase operational efficiency.
Strong affinity with finance systems and technology.
Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Odoo and/or Exact Online is considered a strong asset.
Comfortable operating in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
Hands-on mentality with strong attention to detail.
Language Requirements
Fluent Dutch is essential.
Professional working proficiency in French is considered an asset.
Working knowledge of English is beneficial.
