Business Developer (Freelance) – Renewable Energy (PV & BESS)

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to project sites in West Germany (close to the Dutch border)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Developer to support the growth of renewable energy projects in Germany, with a particular focus on solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This is a flexible freelance opportunity for a commercially driven professional with a strong understanding of the German renewable energy market.

Working remotely, you will play a key role in identifying and developing new business opportunities while building relationships with key stakeholders across the sector. Occasional travel to project sites in West Germany, close to the Dutch border, will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the German renewable energy market.
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, developers, partners and other key stakeholders.
• Support the origination and development of solar PV and BESS projects.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments.
• Work closely with internal and external project teams to progress opportunities through the development pipeline.
• Represent the business in meetings and occasional site visits across West Germany.

Requirements

• Fluent German speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of the German renewable energy market.
• Experience in business development within the renewable energy sector.
• Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is highly advantageous but not essential.
• Available to start within the next 1–2 weeks.
• Eligible to work as a freelancer in Germany (German resident or EU passport holder).
• Willing to travel occasionally to project sites in West Germany.
