Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior C# Developer to join a collaborative product team responsible for developing and enhancing modern inspection and reporting solutions. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of features throughout the full software development lifecycle, helping to build secure, scalable, and high-performing applications while contributing to architectural decisions and continuous improvement.
Working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and fellow developers, you’ll play a key role in delivering robust software solutions and mentoring through technical excellence.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·  Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using C# and .NET.
·  Own features from initial design through development, deployment and post-production support.
·  Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
·  Write clean, maintainable, secure and well-documented code following best practices.
·  Ensure the quality, stability and security of applications throughout the development lifecycle.
·  Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and functional issues.
·  Contribute to architectural discussions and identify opportunities to reduce technical debt.
·  Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote modern development practices.
·  Take a proactive approach to identifying risks, proposing improvements and sharing knowledge across the team.

Required Skills & Experience
Required

• Extensive commercial experience developing applications with C# and .NET (latest versions preferred).
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, multithreading, and application performance optimisation.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude to improve development efficiency while maintaining ownership of code quality.
• Strong expertise with Entity Framework Core, particularly within complex or legacy environments.
• Experience maintaining and modernising legacy applications while managing technical debt.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries, troubleshooting database issues and analysing execution plans.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including deployment, configuration and monitoring of cloud-based applications.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines, Git workflows and pull request best practices.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, eventual consistency, idempotency and messaging concepts.
• Experience developing front-end applications using Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of secure software development practices, including OWASP Top 10 principles.

Desirable

• Experience with MassTransit or similar messaging frameworks.
• Knowledge of Elsa Workflows or other workflow orchestration frameworks.
• Understanding of Zero Trust security architecture and principles.
