About Alban
When we first spoke to Alban, he had been working with Heineken International as a Java developer. His career had been extremely impressive, starting in Greece 12 years ago and moving between freelance and permanent positions in a range of fields, including stints at PwC in the Netherlands and 3M in Belgium. When we caught up to him he wasn’t looking for a new role; however, we had found something we thought would be perfect for him, so we got in touch.
The Requirement
Our client was Lineas, the largest private rail freight operator in Europe. They were in need of an outsystems solution architect and we saw that Alban had plenty of relevant experience that would make him a perfect match for the job, including supply chain planning, scheduling solutions and technology consulting. We got in touch with Alban and found that he was not particularly looking to move jobs; however, we gave him the opportunity to have a call with Lineas and see if he was interested, which he accepted.

OUR APPROACH
The Solution
We knew Lineas was looking for a quick turnaround on this particular job, but also this could be a big move for Alban. It would require moving from a job in the Netherlands to one in Belgium, as well as going from a permanent job to being a contractor again. We made it our priority to provide Alban with as much support as possible throughout the process, so he would be able to adjust to the changes as well as possible if he took the job.
This included arranging everything to do with the interviews, as well as making sure Alban had good feedback after each one. Alban added that he found us friendly and supportive throughout and we were able to make sure the process was as easy as possible for him. Within two weeks, he had started with Lineas.
The Results
Alban has been enjoying working with Lineas, describing it as “exactly what I was looking for and even more”. Although he understandably had concerns about the process and the new job, we have been able to put them to rest. When the contract ends, we look forward to helping him reach the next stage of his career.
