Role Overview:
We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage and deliver multiple engineering projects within a food production environment.
You will be responsible for analysing operational issues raised by internal stakeholders, identifying root causes, and developing practical, efficient solutions. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle—from problem analysis and design through to implementation and installation of solutions on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Join ongoing operations as a Project Engineer, managing multiple projects within a fast-paced food production environment.
Analyse technical and operational problems raised by internal clients (production, maintenance, quality teams).
Conduct root cause analysis and assess potential risks and impacts on production.
Develop and propose optimal engineering solutions, considering cost, efficiency, and compliance with food industry standards.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, quality, and external suppliers.
Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or process improvements.
Ensure solutions are effectively implemented and fully integrated into existing operations.
Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Ensure all projects comply with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
Maintain documentation, technical specifications, and project reports.
Take a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and project execution.
Candidate Requirements:
Strong experience as a Project Engineer, ideally within the food or FMCG industry.
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a production environment.
Strong ability to analyse operational problems and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
Experience working on end-to-end project delivery, including installation and commissioning.
Good technical knowledge (mechanical, process, or industrial engineering).
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (e.g. HACCP).
Ability to work both strategically and hands-on within operations.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Fluent in Dutch and English (mandatory).
French is a plus.
