The Opportunity
We are working with a leading transport planning consultancy in London who are looking to appoint a Transport Planner to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner looking to develop their technical and consultancy experience, working on a diverse range of projects across London and the wider UK.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced transport professionals, gaining exposure to a variety of development and infrastructure projects while continuing to build your career within a supportive and forward-thinking consultancy.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you will be involved in:
Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
Undertaking transport and traffic analysis to support development proposals.
Carrying out junction capacity assessments using relevant modelling software.
Assisting with traffic and transport modelling and analysis.
Undertaking parking assessments and accessibility studies.
Producing technical reports and supporting planning documentation.
Liaising with local authorities, clients, developers and other project stakeholders.
Supporting the delivery of transport planning projects from inception through to completion.
Working closely with highways, planning and multidisciplinary teams.
Contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable transport solutions.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
Previous experience within a transport planning consultancy, local authority or similar environment.
Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and/or Travel Plans.
A good understanding of UK transport planning principles and relevant policy.
Experience with junction capacity modelling and/or transport modelling software.
Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively to deadlines.
A proactive approach and willingness to develop technically and professionally.
Good commercial awareness and an interest in developing client-facing skills.
Experience with software such as Junctions 10, LinSig, VISSIM, ArcGIS/QGIS or AutoCAD would be advantageous, although training can be provided where required.
