Transport Planner – Development Planning
Location: London (Hybrid Working Available)
Overview
We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join a growing development planning team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across the capital and wider UK.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of development planning projects across sectors including residential, mixed-use, commercial, retail, logistics, and regeneration schemes, while working closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and other supporting technical documents.
Supporting the delivery of development planning projects from inception through to planning approval.
Liaising with clients, architects, planners, and local authorities.
Undertaking transport data analysis and interpreting traffic and transport-related information.
Assisting with junction modelling and transport modelling inputs where required.
Preparing technical reports, presentations, and planning support documentation.
Attending client meetings and project team discussions.
Supporting senior team members with project management and client communication.
Keeping up to date with transport planning policy, guidance, and best practice, particularly within London and TfL frameworks.
Requirements
Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
Experience within transport planning, ideally within a consultancy environment.
Strong understanding of development planning and the UK planning process.
Knowledge of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and transport policy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively within a team.
Desirable Experience
Experience working on projects within London.
Familiarity with TfL guidance and London borough planning processes.
Experience with Junctions 10, LinSig, AutoCAD, or similar software.
Progress towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
