Job Title: Freelance Technical Data Architect Lead

Location: Fully Remote (Dutch client)

Contract Type: Freelance

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months (likely extension)

Requirements:

1. Strong expertise in Data Vault 2.0, with the ability to onboard and model new source files within the existing data environment.
2. In-depth knowledge of dbt Core, dbt Cloud, and Snowflake.
3. Hands-on experience with data testing and validation frameworks.
4. Strong understanding of redesign activities and the ability to interpret functional requirements from Day 5 onwards.
5. Ability to define and integrate new KPI requirements while maintaining the integrity of the existing data model.
6. Experience reviewing technical solutions and providing technical guidance and support to developers.
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
8. Strong ability to understand functional KPI requirements and translate them into robust technical designs.
9. Databricks knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of Data Vault 2.0 models and new data source integrations.
• Develop and maintain dbt and Snowflake solutions, ensuring quality, scalability and consistency.
• Translate functional requirements and KPI definitions into effective technical designs.
• Lead redesign and enhancement activities, ensuring new KPIs integrate with the existing architecture.
• Review code and technical solutions, providing guidance and support to engineers.
• Oversee the engineering team’s workload, prioritise tasks, unblock issues and pick up development work when required.
• Ensure delivery against timelines while maintaining development and data quality standards.
• Act as the technical point of contact between engineering and business stakeholders.
