Freelance Site Manager – Ground-Mounted Solar PV (Germany)

Location: Koblenz Region, Germany
Contract Type: Freelance / Self-Employed
Duration: 24th August 2026 – 30th January 2027, with a further mobilisation from approximately March/April 2027 for an additional two months
Hours: 45 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee on-site construction activities for two utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects in the Koblenz region of Germany. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on site professional with a strong background in renewable energy construction and utility-scale solar projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating contractors and maintaining project progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day construction activities across two ground-mounted solar PV projects (5–15 MW).
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
• Ensure all works are completed in line with the project programme, specifications, and quality standards.
• Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance across site activities.
• Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve site issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
• Support commissioning and project handover activities as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on PV projects from EPC side.
• Strong knowledge of solar construction methods, site coordination, and contractor management.
• Fluent German language skills (spoken and written).
• Willingness and flexibility to travel between project sites as required.
• EU passport holder or valid German residency/work authorisation.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

• End Date: July 2027
• Break: For 2-3 months from end of January
