Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a growing planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including residential, mixed-use, commercial, retail, and strategic land.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing planning applications, advising clients, and supporting junior members of the team while contributing to business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a wide range of planning projects from inception through to determination.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients across a variety of sectors.
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, consultants, and external partners.
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact.
- Supporting junior planners through mentoring and technical guidance.
- Attending client meetings, committee meetings, and public consultations where required.
- Monitoring changes in planning legislation and policy.
- Assisting with business development and identifying new opportunities.
Requirements
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
- Proven experience within either a planning consultancy, developer, or local authority environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Experience managing planning applications and client relationships independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.

- Experience mentoring junior staff members.
