About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading pharmaceutical wholesaler-distributor in Belgium, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager Supply Chain to drive efficiency and capacity improvement initiatives across its national operations. This role focuses on enhancing cost efficiency across multiple business units, with a strong emphasis on warehouse and transport optimization.
A key responsibility will be leading the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) at one of the company’s major sites. In this position, you will manage cross-functional project teams, coordinate activities between IT, operations, and business stakeholders, and ensure delivery within agreed timelines and budgets. A solid background in IT-driven project management and warehouse management systems is essential.
Beyond project delivery, you will play a central role in standardizing processes across business units and optimizing logistics and operational workflows based on data-driven insights.
You will collaborate closely with internal analysts to define KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement impactful solutions.
The role also involves contributing to broader supply chain transformation initiatives, including digitalization, automation, ERP enhancements, warehouse redesign, and route optimization. You will oversee project go-live phases, ensuring effective stakeholder communication, training, and post-implementation support.
This is a highly visible position requiring regular on-site collaboration across multiple locations. You will engage with local teams, adapting your communication style as needed, and maintaining a strategic overview of operations. The role reports directly to senior leadership within operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate holds a degree in engineering or supply chain and brings at least five years of relevant experience in warehouse management and supply chain environments.
You have hands-on experience with warehouse management systems and a strong understanding of operational processes.
Lean certification is considered an asset.
You are adaptable, eager to learn, and capable of quickly integrating into new environments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a collaborative mindset.
You approach work in a structured, project-oriented way and are known for your problem-solving abilities.
Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is expected.
Experience with Power BI is a plus.
