Procurement Consultant – Renewable Energy

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Consultant to support procurement and commercial activities across renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience in EPC contract negotiation, supply chain management, and renewable energy procurement, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
This is a 6-month, fully remote freelance contract, offering an immediate start for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support procurement activities across PV and BESS projects.
Negotiate EPC contracts, commercial terms, pricing, and contractual conditions.
Manage and develop relationships with suppliers, contractors, and key supply chain partners.
Support the sourcing, evaluation, and selection of equipment, materials, and services.
Conduct commercial negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favourable contractual terms.
Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks.
Monitor supplier performance, lead times, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
Collaborate with project, engineering, commercial, and technical teams to ensure procurement activities align with project requirements.
Provide procurement and market insight to support project and commercial decision-making.
Assist with the development and implementation of procurement strategies and processes.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, ideally within the renewable energy or energy infrastructure sector.
Strong EPC contract negotiation experience.
Demonstrable experience working on PV/solar and BESS projects.
Strong commercial and contractual negotiation skills.
Experience managing suppliers, contractors, and complex supply chains.
Ability to analyse commercial proposals, contractual terms, and supplier offers.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Fluent English is essential.
Spanish language skills would be a significant advantage.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the contract.
