Plant Manager (Interim Contract)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a large-scale concrete manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership role overseeing a 150-person operation responsible for producing approximately 300,000 tonnes of concrete annually across 8 production halls, combining both manual and automated production processes.
This assignment is ideal for an operational leader with a strong background in heavy manufacturing who can drive operational excellence, product quality, safety, and continuous improvement within a high-volume production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of a 150-person manufacturing facility.
Ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective production across 8 production halls.
Drive product quality and ensure all concrete products meet customer and regulatory standards.
Maximise production performance, plant efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness.
Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
Manage production planning, maintenance coordination and operational resources.
Lead, coach and develop production managers, supervisors and operational teams.
Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, quality and operational performance.
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality and supply chain teams to achieve business objectives.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager or Manufacturing Manager within heavy industry.
Experience in the concrete, cement, construction materials, precast or related manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
Strong leadership experience managing large manufacturing teams (100+ employees preferred).
Experience managing both automated and manual production environments.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience working within ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
Excellent operational, commercial and people management skills.
Strong focus on quality, safety and performance improvement.
Fluent English is essential. Dutch and/or French would be advantageous.
