About the Role

An established and well-regarded planning consultancy is seeking a motivated Town Planner to join its growing team in Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for a planning professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment, working on a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, rural and mixed-use sectors.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior colleagues, clients, developers and local authorities, contributing to projects from initial appraisal through to planning determination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
  • Undertake site appraisals and planning research.
  • Provide planning advice to a range of private and public sector clients.
  • Draft planning statements, representations and reports.
  • Liaise with local planning authorities, consultees and project teams.
  • Monitor planning policy and legislative changes relevant to client projects.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits and stakeholder consultations.
  • Assist with business development activities and client relationship management.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Working towards, or already holding, MRTPI status.
  • Experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
