About the role
Our client is looking for an HSE Supervisor to join a petrochemical site in Rotterdam on a 5-month contract. The role suits an English-speaking safety professional who can step in quickly and keep health, safety and environmental standards visible across day-to-day site activity.
You will supervise HSE compliance on site, from checking that work is planned and carried out safely to following up on inspections, observations and incidents. Petrochemical environments carry higher risks than most, so the role calls for clear judgement, a steady presence on site and the confidence to stop work when it is needed.
You will work closely with site management, contractors and operational teams, so communication is a core part of the job, along with accurate reporting and records.
Main responsibilities
- Supervise HSE compliance on a petrochemical site, making sure work is planned and carried out safely
- Carry out regular site inspections and safety observations, and follow up on corrective actions
- Check permits to work, risk assessments and method statements before and during work
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety communication to site teams and contractors
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and report on findings and lessons learned
- Maintain accurate HSE records and reporting
- Act as an HSE contact for site management, contractors and operational teams
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in an HSE Supervisor role
- Experience of working in a petrochemical environment
- Fluent English
