Our public sector client in North Wales is seeking a Nutrient Management Officer to take a lead role in coordinating and driving the delivery of the Nutrient Management Plan.

This is an opportunity to work at the centre of a high-profile environmental programme, bringing together local authorities, government bodies, environmental organisations, developers, water companies, and other stakeholders to improve water quality and support sustainable development across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate water quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Act as the central point of contact for the Nutrient Management Board.
  • Drive delivery of nutrient reduction and phosphorus mitigation projects.
  • Support local authorities in achieving nutrient neutral development.
  • Build partnerships across public, private and voluntary sectors.
  • Manage project plans, budgets, funding streams, reporting and governance requirements.
  • Support development of environmental strategies, policies and mitigation solutions.
  • Prepare funding applications and manage grant-funded projects.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Degree-level qualification in Environmental Science, Ecology, Planning, Geography, Sustainability or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership working skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and challenging deadlines.
  • Experience working within environmental, planning, sustainability, conservation or local government settings.

Desirable Experience

  • PRINCE2 or other project management qualification.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation.
  • Understanding of planning policy and development processes.
  • Water quality, catchment management or nutrient neutrality experience.
