Job Details

Location: Eindhoven, The Netherlands (Hybrid)
Contract duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Working hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Start date: ASAP
Language: Dutch preferred

About the role

We are looking for a Medior Software Engineer with at least three years of LabVIEW development experience to join a project with a high-tech machinery client based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

In this role, you will contribute to the development, maintenance and support of software solutions that interact directly with physical machinery, hardware components and backend data processing systems. You will work across different parts of the software environment, helping ensure that applications function reliably alongside the equipment and systems they support.

This opportunity is suited to a software engineer who enjoys working beyond application development alone and has a genuine interest in how software interacts with physical hardware. You should be comfortable working in a technical environment where troubleshooting, integration and dependable software performance are important parts of the job.

Experience with LabVIEW in a real-world machinery environment is essential. You should also have an understanding of hardware integration and experience building or supporting backend data processing solutions. Knowledge of Python would be beneficial, particularly for someone looking to apply their software development skills across different parts of a technical system.

The initial contract is for six months, with the possibility of extension. The role is full-time, based in Eindhoven with a hybrid working arrangement.

Main responsibilities

As a Medior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and ongoing support of software used in a high-tech machinery environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Software development: Develop, maintain and support software applications using LabVIEW, ensuring they meet the technical requirements of the systems they support.
  • Machinery software: Implement and support software that runs on physical industrial or high-tech machinery, with an understanding of how applications interact with the equipment.
  • Hardware integration: Work on the integration of software with hardware components and machinery systems, helping ensure that the different elements operate together as intended.
  • Backend data processing: Build, maintain and support backend data processing systems that form part of the wider software environment.
  • Troubleshooting and support: Investigate software issues and problems involving hardware integration, identify potential causes and support the resolution of technical challenges.
  • System reliability: Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and support of software solutions to help ensure reliable performance in the machinery environment.
  • Team collaboration: Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, sharing technical knowledge and contributing to the development and support of integrated systems.

The role combines hands-on LabVIEW development with practical software support, hardware integration and backend processing. You will need to approach technical challenges methodically and understand the importance of reliable software in an environment where applications interact directly with physical equipment.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

  • At least three years of proven experience developing software with LabVIEW.
  • Practical experience working with software deployed on physical machinery, rather than experience limited to standalone applications.
  • An affinity for hardware integration and an understanding of how software interfaces with hardware components.
  • Experience building, maintaining or supporting backend data processing systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • A structured approach to software development, maintenance and technical support.
  • The ability to work effectively with colleagues from different technical disciplines.

Your previous experience should demonstrate that you can work with LabVIEW in a practical environment and contribute to software solutions that need to operate alongside machinery and hardware systems.

Preferred qualifications

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Python development: Experience using Python to develop or support software solutions.
  • High-tech machinery: Previous work in a high-tech machinery or equipment engineering environment.
  • Industrial automation: Familiarity with industrial automation systems or software used in machinery environments.
  • Dutch language skills: Dutch proficiency is preferred for this position.

These qualifications would be beneficial, but the key requirement is proven LabVIEW development experience combined with practical exposure to machinery software and hardware integration.

The offer

This opportunity offers the chance to apply your software engineering skills within a high-tech machinery project in Eindhoven.

The contract and working arrangements include:

  • An initial six-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
  • Full-time working hours of 40 hours per week.
  • A hybrid working arrangement based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
  • The opportunity to work on software that interacts directly with physical machinery, hardware components and backend data processing systems.
  • A role combining LabVIEW development, software support and hardware integration within a multidisciplinary technical environment.

If you have strong LabVIEW experience and enjoy developing software that connects with real-world machinery, this could be a suitable next contract for you.
