Freelance Logistic Manager

About the Role
An international industrial/manufacturing environment is looking for an experienced Freelance Logistic Manager to support and optimize logistics and supply chain operations at the Gätterstädt site.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution and project management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating both at management level and directly within operations.
A key focus of the assignment will be supporting the ERP transition from SAP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). Strong ERP understanding is therefore essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support logistics, supply chain, and transport improvement initiatives
- Manage day-to-day logistics and transport operations with a hands-on approach
- Support the ERP migration project from SAP to Dynamics 365 F&O
- Optimize warehouse processes, material flow, transport planning, and inventory accuracy
- Coordinate carriers, internal stakeholders, and external partners
- Drive process optimization, KPI management, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions
- Support TMS optimization and transport performance management
- Act as project manager for logistics-related transformation projects
Profile & Requirements
- Proven experience in Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management
- Strong hands-on operational logistics experience
- Solid understanding of transport operations and transport optimization
- Experience with TMS (Transport Management Systems)
- Strong ERP process understanding
- Experience with SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is a strong plus
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational execution
- Fluent German is mandatory; English is an advantage
- Available on site in Gätterstädt 3–4 days per week
