Licensing Officer (Contract) – Surrey
Part-Time | 3-Month Initial Contract | Local Authority

We are currently supporting a Surrey-based local authority in recruiting an experienced Licensing Officer for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy team during a period of change, providing essential support across licensing functions.

Key Details

  • Contract Length: Initial 3 months (with break clause)
  • Hours: 21–24 hours per week (flexible depending on rate)
  • Working Pattern: 2 days in the office, 1 day remote
  • Location: Surrey

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and assessing applications under the Licensing Act 2003
  • Conducting inspections and site visits
  • Managing taxi licensing cases, including vehicle inspections
  • Engaging with licence holders and ensuring regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a local authority licensing team
  • Strong working knowledge of the Licensing Act 2003
  • Experience in taxi licensing (essential)
  • Ability to carry out inspections independently
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel for site visits
  • Experience using Uniform software

Please note: Candidates with only Transport for London (TFL) experience will not be considered, due to differing legislation and responsibilities.
