Regional Lead – Mainframe Infrastructure Delivery
Role Overview:
As a Regional Lead for Mainframe Infrastructure, you will oversee the strategic management and delivery of services across a designated region. You will be responsible for driving improvements, managing budgets, overseeing team performance, and ensuring the successful execution of infrastructure projects. This role demands a dynamic leader who can collaborate across teams, mentor managers, and ensure that business objectives are met while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Oversight: Lead and supervise multiple managers or department heads to ensure the effective delivery of services within the region, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance standards.
- Process and Service Improvement: Spearhead initiatives to optimize operational processes, ensuring efficiency gains and higher service quality.
- Demand and Capacity Planning: Collaborate with account teams to develop demand forecasts, ensuring proper resource allocation and managing the timely execution of infrastructure projects and service delivery.
- Financial Management: Prepare, manage, and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring all expenditures comply with financial guidelines. Monitor budget adherence and implement necessary adjustments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and functional teams to interpret project requirements, providing guidance and support to ensure projects meet company and client expectations.
- Client Relationship Management: Manage relationships between service delivery teams and clients, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive service enhancements.
- Personnel Development: Select, train, and develop a high-performing team of managers and staff. Address performance gaps and implement strategies for improving employee development, motivation, and retention.
- Project Leadership: Lead the planning and execution of major infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Infrastructure Performance Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring and optimization of infrastructure systems, ensuring operational stability, security, and availability.
- Innovation and Technology Integration: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, working with teams to introduce new solutions and integrate innovative services.
- Problem Resolution: Act as the key point of contact for resolving complex infrastructure-related incidents, ensuring swift resolution and minimizing service disruptions.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Develop and maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation while ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Resource Optimization: Contribute to the strategic planning and resource allocation for infrastructure initiatives, ensuring optimal use of available resources.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in mainframe infrastructure roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions overseeing teams of managers or supervisors.
- Proven Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams in large-scale infrastructure delivery environments, with the ability to drive results and foster collaboration.
- Budget and Financial Oversight: Strong track record in managing departmental budgets, financial forecasting, and analyzing variances.
- Project Management: Expertise in project management with an emphasis on technical solutions, timelines, and risk management.
- Infrastructure Expertise: Deep knowledge of mainframe infrastructure, operations, and engineering with a solid understanding of the latest trends and technologies.
- Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication skills with a focus on maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring project deliverables align with customer needs.
Education & Certifications:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Typically, 7+ years of related experience with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or management role within infrastructure.
- Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as CCNP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, CompTIA Project+, or similar credentials are an asset.
