Housing Options Officer – South West London

We are currently recruiting for experienced Housing Options Officer to join a busy local authority team across South West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for housing professionals with strong homelessness prevention experience looking for their next contract role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of homelessness applications
- Delivering prevention & relief duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act
- Completing S184 decisions and Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
- Providing housing advice and support to vulnerable residents
- Liaising with landlords, support agencies, and external stakeholders
- Ensuring cases are managed in line with current housing legislation
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Housing Options Officer / Homeless Prevention Officer
- Strong knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996 & Homelessness Reduction Act
- Experience within a local authority setting preferred
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively
- Excellent communication and case management skills
