About the role
Our client is looking for an experienced Freelance Project Leader to join a large technical project at Schiphol. In this role you will guide projects from start to finish and make sure clients, delivery teams, suppliers and subcontractors work well together throughout.
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate technical work across several disciplines, which may include construction, building services and electrical engineering. You will direct project teams, keep a close eye on planning, quality, budget and progress, and step in early when problems come up. Working at an operational airport means following Schiphol’s own procedures and safety regulations carefully, so you will make sure these are understood and applied across the project.
This full-time freelance assignment starts as soon as possible, with the duration to be agreed. It suits a hands-on project leader who works independently, communicates clearly and is used to complex technical projects with many stakeholders. There is scope for a longer-term working relationship.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate technical projects at Schiphol
- Direct project teams and manage the input of different disciplines
- Monitor planning, quality, budget and progress, and report on project status
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to keep work aligned
- Identify bottlenecks early and resolve them
- Make sure Schiphol-specific procedures and safety regulations are followed correctly
- Coordinate work around airport operations, access requirements and site constraints
- Keep project documentation, change control and progress records up to date
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as a Project Leader in technical, construction or electrical engineering projects
- Independent, strong communicator and well organised
- Able to switch quickly between priorities and comfortable working on complex projects
- Available to work as a ZZP’er / freelancer
Desirable
- Experience of projects at Schiphol (a strong advantage)
- Available at short notice
