For a customer site in Geel we are searching for an experienced PCS 7 Automation Engineer technical to provide support and day-to-day management of a PCS 7 environment. You will play a key role in supporting the spray dryer installation and will assist the customer with troubleshooting, minor modifications, impact analyses, documentation and technical advice.
You will work on-site within the customer’s Daily Operations department, together with a multidisciplinary Integrator team. In this environment, minor changes and optimisations are continuously carried out on existing, interconnected systems. A solid understanding of how these systems interact is essential to provide fast, safe and efficient support.
Automation Engineer Responsibilities
- You support the customer in Geel within a service and support context for the PCS 7 environment.
- You analyse automation issues, perform troubleshooting and look for sustainable solutions.
- You define and implement minor changes and improvements, including impact analysis, execution and follow-up. These must be aligned with the Quality department.
- You advise the customer on technical choices, risks, priorities and potential optimisations.
- You ensure accurate reporting, documentation, knowledge retention and continuity of service.
Profile
- You have extensive experience with Siemens PCS 7 and industrial automation within an operational environment.
- You quickly understand existing installations and can accurately assess technical dependencies between systems.
- You have experience in the Life Sciences sector, including impact analyses and the preparation or follow-up of FAT/SAT test plans, test protocols and test reports.
- You are strong in troubleshooting, root cause analysis and defining pragmatic improvement actions.
- You can translate customer requests into a clear scope, agreements, priorities and executable actions.
- You work accurately in documentation, planning, follow-up and handover.
- You work independently at the customer site while actively aligning with the Integrator team.
- You have the intention to commit to this assignment for the longer term, preferably around five years
