Freelance Data Engineer – Liège

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing data team within a large-scale technology environment. 

You will join a collaborative environment where initiative, problem-solving ability, and technical curiosity are highly valued. The team is looking for someone who can quickly get up to speed and work independently.

Location: Liège, Belgium (Hybrid – approximately 2 days onsite per week)
Contract: Freelance
Language: English (French is a bonus) 

Responsibilities

🔹 Develop and optimise data pipelines and data engineering solutions using AWS and Python
🔹 Collaborate with data engineers, technical stakeholders, and project teams
🔹 Participate in workshops and technical discussions to define solutions
🔹 Take ownership of technical challenges and propose effective solutions
🔹 Support project delivery activities and contribute to team growth

Requirements

🔹 Strong experience as a Data Engineer
🔹 Hands-on experience with AWS and Python
🔹 Ability to analyse complex problems and deliver practical solutions
🔹 Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
🔹 Self-starter with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
🔹 Comfortable working independently while collaborating within a team
🔹 Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges
