Job Title: Freelance Material Planner (SAP)
Location: Malvern, Pennsylvania (3 days per week on-site)
Contract: 12+ months
Position Summary
The Material Planner is responsible for planning and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of GMP materials required for manufacturing operations while maintaining full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), quality systems, and regulatory requirements. The role manages material availability throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Warehouse Operations, and Regulatory Affairs.
The successful candidate will utilise SAP to execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP), monitor inventory, maintain planning master data, support production schedules, and ensure complete material traceability in accordance with FDA, cGMP, and internal quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory using SAP.
- Ensure timely availability of GMP materials to support manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to resolve material shortages.
- Monitor inventory levels, supplier deliveries, and planning parameters.
- Maintain accurate SAP master data and ensure compliance with GMP and company procedures.
Key Skills
- Proven experience as a Material Planner in a GMP-regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device).
- Strong SAP experience (MM/PP or S/4HANA) and MRP planning knowledge.
- Understanding of GMP, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
