Freelance Business Analyst – Data Quality – Belgium
We are looking for a Data-oriented Business Analyst to support a data quality improvement initiative within a large organisation.
Location: Belgium (hybrid)

Context
The project focuses on improving data quality and consistency within core systems, including interactions with external regulatory data sources.
You will work on a central database, where a large set of critical data fields (±170) need to be reviewed, structured, and improved.
Responsibilities
🔹 Analyse how data is captured, stored, and used across systems
🔹 Identify data sources, flows, and inconsistencies
🔹 Improve data quality, completeness, and reliability
🔹 Work closely with business teams to clarify and validate data definitions
🔹 Act proactively to fill gaps in documentation and knowledge
🔹 Translate findings into clear functional and data requirements
🔹 Support data governance and contribute to long-term data improvement initiatives
Profile
🔹 Experience as a Business Analyst ideally with data exposure
🔹 Good understanding of data flows, data quality, and data structures
🔹 Able to work in a hands-on, investigative way
🔹 Strong stakeholder management, able to challenge and structure unclear needs
🔹 Proactive mindset — able to find answers independently
🔹 Some technical understanding (SQL / data tools) is a plus (no heavy coding required)
