Environmental Planner (All Levels)

Location: Flexible Across the UK (Hybrid Working)

Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

I’m working with one of the UK’s leading planning and development consultancies as they continue to grow their Environmental Planning team.

They’re looking to speak with Environmental Planners at all levels, from those early in their career through to experienced professionals, to support a growing pipeline of projects across residential, commercial, logistics, mixed-use, regeneration and infrastructure sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected consultancy with a strong national presence, working on complex and high-profile developments while collaborating with industry-leading planners and technical specialists.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and providing environmental planning advice throughout the planning process.

Depending on your experience, you’ll coordinate environmental inputs into planning applications, manage elements of the EIA process, engage with clients and stakeholders, and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver commercially focused planning solutions.

The role offers excellent exposure to a varied project portfolio, structured career development and genuine opportunities to progress within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).

  • Prepare Screening Requests, Scoping Reports and Environmental Statements.

  • Manage environmental inputs into planning applications and development proposals.

  • Coordinate technical specialists including ecology, landscape, transport, heritage, air quality, acoustics and flood risk.

  • Liaise with clients, Local Planning Authorities, statutory consultees and wider project teams.

  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and planning documentation.

  • Support project delivery, programme management and budget control.

  • Contribute to business development activities, networking and fee proposals where appropriate.

  • Keep up to date with planning policy, environmental legislation and EIA best practice.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • A degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Geography or a related discipline.

  • Experience delivering Environmental Impact Assessments or environmental planning services within a consultancy environment.

  • A sound understanding of the UK planning system and EIA Regulations.

  • Strong report writing, analytical and communication skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Membership of IEMA, RTPI or another relevant professional body, or a desire to work towards Chartership.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • Annual bonus.

  • Hybrid and flexible working.

  • Structured career progression with clear development pathways.

  • Professional membership fees and Chartership support.

  • Comprehensive benefits package.

  • Generous annual leave.

  • The opportunity to work on nationally significant and high-profile development projects across the UK.

  • A collaborative, supportive culture that values professional development and long-term career growth.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading consultancy that continues to invest heavily in its Environmental Planning team. Whether you’re looking to broaden your project experience, progress your career or work alongside some of the industry’s leading professionals, this role offers the platform to do just that.
