Engineering Manager
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of data center facilities. This role focuses on supervising contractor-led maintenance and inspection activities, ensuring quality execution of work on critical infrastructure (HVAC, generators, electrical systems), and maintaining high standards across all site operations. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational and people management skills with a solid technical background, enabling them to effectively execute operational strategies in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors performing maintenance, inspections, and servicing of critical infrastructure, including power-down and power-up procedures.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and operational protocols.
- Manage maintenance planning and execution, including pre-inspections, scheduled work, and post-maintenance validation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on priorities, mitigate risks, and support incident response and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5-8+ years of experience in data center operations, facilities management, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience supervising contractors or vendors in technical envionrments.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, generators, and HVAC systems.
