Vivid Resourcing are currently working with a London Borough Council who are looking to appoint an experienced Locum Employment Lawyer to join their legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an employment specialist to work within a busy local authority environment, providing high-quality legal advice across a broad range of employment matters.

The Role

You will provide specialist employment law advice to the Council, supporting HR and senior stakeholders on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

• Advising on complex employment law issues and disputes.
• Managing and advising on employment tribunal claims.
• Providing advice on disciplinary, grievance and capability matters.
• Advising on redundancy, TUPE, discrimination and whistleblowing issues.
• Supporting HR and management teams with day-to-day employment matters.
• Drafting and reviewing employment-related documentation and correspondence.
• Advising on policies, procedures and organisational change.
• Managing your own caseload and working effectively with internal stakeholders.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice in a public sector environment.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister status, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong experience in employment law, preferably within a local authority or wider public sector environment.
• Experience handling employment tribunal matters.
• A strong understanding of UK employment legislation and case law.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
• A practical and solutions-focused approach to legal advice.
