Role Overview:
We are currently looking for an experienced Freelance Electrical Technician to join our customer’s team in Leuven on an initial 3-month project, with a strong possibility of extension.
You will play a hands-on role within the technical team, working on electrical systems, control panels and electronic components. The ideal candidate is technically minded, comfortable troubleshooting complex issues and able to work independently to identify and resolve problems.
Experience with electrical cabinet wiring, electronics and fault finding is essential. Knowledge of hydraulics and PLC programming would be a major advantage.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·  Wiring, assembling and modifying electrical control cabinets.
·  Installing, connecting and testing electrical components and systems.
·  Troubleshooting electrical and electronic faults and identifying root causes.
·  Carrying out testing, commissioning and maintenance activities.
·  Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
·  Diagnosing issues across electrical and electronic systems.
·  Supporting the development and improvement of technical installations.
·  Working closely with engineers and other technical specialists to resolve complex problems.
·  Assisting with PLC-related troubleshooting and programming where required.
·  Supporting hydraulic systems and troubleshooting where your experience allows.
·  Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to the required technical standards.
·  Occasionally travelling to the Netherlands to support projects or installations.

Required Skills & Experience
Required

• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrical Engineer, Electrotechnician or similar.
• Strong hands-on experience with electrical cabinet wiring.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, components and electronics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical issues.
• Dutch-speaking is essential.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to the Netherlands.

Highly Advantageous

• Experience with PLC programming or PLC troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Experience with industrial machinery or automated equipment.
• Experience with commissioning and installation.
• Broader knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
