Development Consultant (Interim)
Rate: £600/day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6-12 months
An established local authority-backed development company is seeking a senior Development Consultant to lead on the delivery of mixed-tenure housing and regeneration projects. This role requires full cradle-to-grave experience and the ability to operate strategically while driving day-to-day delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end delivery of residential and mixed-use developments
Lead internal and external teams, including consultants and contractors
Oversee budget management, programme performance, and risk mitigation
Provide board-level reporting and contribute to strategic planning
Support contract negotiation, procurement, and aftercare
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in housing delivery within housing associations, councils, or development companies
Strong stakeholder management and governance skills
Ability to lead complex programmes and drive outcomes under pressure
Familiarity with housing development systems and policies
