Freelance HSE Manager | Manufacturing | South-West Germany | 12-Month Contract
We’re supporting a leading manufacturing organisation in South-West Germany as they look to appoint an experienced Freelance HSE Manager on an initial 12-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
Health, Safety and Environmental performance is a key strategic priority for the business. They’re looking for a confident HSE professional who can provide strong leadership, influence stakeholders at all levels and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freelance HSE Manager looking for a long-term contract with flexibility and the chance to make a genuine impact within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Health, Safety & Environmental activities across manufacturing operations.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the business.
- Challenge existing processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advise managers and operational teams on HSE best practice and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and influence safety performance across the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant German and European HSE legislation.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an HSE Manager, EHS Manager or Health & Safety Manager within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Fluent German is preferred, although exceptional English-speaking candidates will also be considered.
- Ability to work on-site while taking advantage of flexible and remote working arrangements where appropriate.
Contract Details
- Initial 12-month freelance contract.
- Strong potential for extension.
- 38–40 hours per week.
- Start date required within the next 1–2 months, with earlier availability welcomed.
- Flexible working arrangements, including some remote working and occasional long weekends.
- Location: Baden-Württemberg, Southwest Germany.
