The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join a civil engineering project in Finland, supporting the delivery of large-scale earthworks and infrastructure activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a strong background in civil engineering and earthworks, who has proven experience managing complex site operations, coordinating teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing construction activities, managing site performance and supporting the successful delivery of earthmoving and civil engineering works.
Fluent Finnish language skills are essential for this role.
The Role
As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities across earthworks and civil engineering projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and according to project requirements.
- Leading construction teams, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Overseeing earthworks activities, including excavation, ground preparation, grading and site development.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying challenges and implementing solutions to maintain programme deadlines.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, clients and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Reviewing construction plans, drawings and technical documentation.
- Managing resources, materials and equipment required for successful project delivery.
- Supporting planning, scheduling and reporting activities.
- Resolving technical and operational issues on site.
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with project specifications and industry standards.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and significant experience within the earthworks sector.
You will ideally have:
- Several years of experience working as a Construction Manager, Site Manager or similar within civil engineering.
- Strong experience managing earthworks projects and ground engineering activities.
- Proven experience leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, processes and site management.
- Experience delivering complex civil engineering projects from planning through to completion.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent Finnish language skills are mandatory.
