Working Hours: 8 hours per day
Weekly Commitment: 4–5 days per week (depending on candidate preference)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of an 8MW ground-mounted solar PV project located near Würzburg, Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a freelance construction professional with renewable energy experience to join a fast-paced solar project during a critical phase of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
• Monitor project progress against programme milestones and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Coordinate site logistics, resources, and daily construction operations.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders.
• Review construction documentation, method statements, and work plans.
• Support commissioning and project handover activities as required.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager on utility-scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience delivering ground-mounted solar PV projects.
• Excellent site management, contractor coordination, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• EU passport holder or permanent German resident.
• Ability to work independently in a freelance capacity.

Desirable

• Previous experience working with Ideematec tracker systems.
• German language skills.
• Experience delivering utility-scale solar projects within Germany or wider European markets.
