Benefits Assessment Officer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Benefits Assessment Officer on a 6-month contract, working fully remotely.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims.
  • Academy Benefits System experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction legislation.
  • Experience processing new claims, changes in circumstances, and reviews.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Key Duties

  • Assess and process Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims.
  • Calculate entitlement in accordance with current legislation and local policies.
  • Process changes of circumstances, reviews, and reassessments.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve benefit-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure performance targets are met.

This role is ideal for an experienced Benefits Officer who can quickly integrate into a team and deliver high-quality assessments with minimal supervision.
