(ZZP) Mechanical Design Engineer – North Brabant – 12 Months

For an innovative biopharma-focused project, my client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of hardware systems. You’ll be involved in the full engineering process, ensuring the product meets both technical and customer requirements. This role combines mechanical design with hands-on implementation and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of hardware systems from concept through to final acceptance
  • Conduct feasibility and costing studies
  • Create P&IDs and detailed 3D mechanical designs (skids, frames, components)
  • Perform technical calculations and support design improvements
  • Manage vendor collaboration and support installations
  • Maintain engineering documentation and assist with issue resolution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Bioengineering
  • 2-3 years’ experience in mechanical product development
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D) and 3D design software (Inventor preferred)
  • Hands-on experience designing, troubleshooting, and implementing mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with FEA tools is a plus
  • Strong communication, organisation, and multitasking skills
  • Fluent in English

Contract Type: Freelance

Duration: 12 months

Start Date: ASAP
