Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Weight & Balance Practical Business Analyst to join a long-term aviation technology programme for a Belgium-based client.
The successful candidate will act as the key link between aviation and operational stakeholders and the software/technology team, translating real-world Weight & Balance requirements and processes into clear business requirements, system configurations and functional solutions.
This is a highly practical role suited to someone with a strong operational background in aircraft Weight & Balance within the aviation industry, rather than a purely technical or traditional IT Business Analyst profile.
You will work closely with aviation specialists, operational users and software teams to understand existing processes, identify improvements and ensure that the resulting software solution accurately reflects real-world aviation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Act as the primary business and functional point of contact for Weight & Balance processes.
· Translate operational aviation requirements into clear business requirements, functional specifications and system configurations.
· Work directly with software developers and technical teams to explain Weight & Balance requirements and expected system behaviour.
· Coordinate closely with aviation stakeholders, including operational and technical subject-matter experts.
· Analyse existing Weight & Balance processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and standardisation.
· Gather, challenge and document requirements from aviation users.
· Support the configuration of Weight & Balance functionality within the relevant software platform.
· Ensure that configured solutions accurately reflect operational aviation procedures and regulatory requirements.
· Facilitate discussions between business stakeholders and software teams to resolve functional questions and ambiguities.
· Support functional testing, validation and acceptance of new functionality.
· Investigate issues and determine whether they relate to business processes, configuration or software functionality.
· Provide practical aviation expertise throughout the software development and implementation lifecycle.
· Contribute to continuous improvement of Weight & Balance and related operational processes.
Required Skills & Experience
· Minimum 5 years of hands-on professional experience in Weight & Balance within the aviation industry.
· Strong practical understanding of aircraft Weight & Balance processes and operations.
· Experience working directly with aviation operational stakeholders.
· Proven ability to translate practical aviation requirements into software requirements and configurations.
· Experience working closely with software developers, IT teams or technology implementation teams.
· Strong understanding of how Weight & Balance systems are used in real-world aviation operations.
· Experience with requirements gathering, functional analysis and/or system configuration.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to operate independently within a remote, international environment.
· Professional English is sufficient; additional European languages are not required.

- Experience with aircraft load planning / load control.
- Experience working with Load Control or Flight Operations systems.
- Experience with aviation software implementation or digital transformation projects.
- Knowledge of aircraft loading, trim, mass & balance calculations and associated operational processes.
- Experience translating operational procedures into configurable software rules.
- Previous experience working between aviation operations and software development teams.
- Experience with testing and validating aviation software solutions.
