The Opportunity
We are working with a growing development planning and transport consultancy in London who are looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner to join their team.
The role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of development schemes, providing transport and highways advice from the early stages of a project through to planning submission and determination.
You will work closely with developers, architects, planning consultants, local authorities and other professional teams, helping to deliver commercially viable developments while addressing transport and highways considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and contribute to Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
Provide transport planning advice in support of planning applications.
Undertake trip generation, distribution and assignment assessments.
Assess the transport implications of proposed residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
Review access, parking, servicing, traffic generation and sustainable transport considerations.
Liaise with clients, local authorities, TfL and other stakeholders.
Attend project meetings and contribute to client discussions.
Support the preparation of planning application documentation and technical reports.
Undertake research, data analysis and transport modelling where required.
Provide advice on highways and transport policy and planning requirements.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines across a varied development portfolio.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across planning, highways and development disciplines.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in a transport planning consultancy or development planning environment.
Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and/or Travel Plans.
A good understanding of the UK planning system and the role of transport within development proposals.
Knowledge of relevant transport planning guidance and policy.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
The ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
Good commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
Experience working on development schemes within London would be advantageous.
Experience with relevant transport modelling, GIS or technical software would be beneficial.
